Friday, October 25, 2019, 2:00-4:30pm Highlights of this historical tour include Konrad Gesner’s [Historiae animalium (1551)](http://id.lib.harvard.edu/alma/990050955910203941/catalog); Theodor Schwann’s 1839 [Mikroskopische Untersuchungen](http://id.lib.harvard.edu/alma/990053802860203941/catalog) (1839); Erasmus Darwin’s [Zoonomia](http://id.lib.harvard.edu/alma/990050304630203941/catalog) (1794) and his grandson Charles Darwin’s [On the Origin of Species](http://id.lib.harvard.edu/alma/990050276320203941/catalog) (1860); and Maria Sibylla Merian’s [Histoire Generale des Insectes de Surinam ](http://id.lib.harvard.edu/alma/990013315970203941/catalog)(1771).
