Dorothy moved to Boston in 2002 to attend library school at Simmons. While in Boston working at Simmons and studying, she volunteered at the Franklin Park Zoo. After three years in the Lamar Soutter Library at UMass Med School in Worcester and volunteering at the Ecotarium there, she came to Harvard in 2007. Previously she worked in a science museum, for a veterinarian, at a zoo, a high school and Syracuse Opera among other jobs, and spent many years as a childbirth educator. She also worked in Entomology at the SUNY School of Forestry (as it was then) and at UConn. In addition to the MLIS, she has a master’s in Classics from Syracuse University, and a MALS in Natural History from SUNY Empire State. She is active professionally in SLA and IAMSLIC
