This image shows a one-day old zebrafish embryo viewed from the side. The head is on the left and the tail is on the right. Different cell types are labeled by the "Brainbow" method, where random mixing of three fluorescent proteins (red,green, and blue) results in a wide variety of colors. This image is a montage of several confocal images taken at the imaging facility at the Center for Brain Science at Harvard University. You can learn more about research at the Schier Lab here:
